Das Titelbild zeigt die Staue von Ferdinand de Lesseps, die bis 1956 am Eingang des Suezkanals in Port Said stand. Unterhalb der Zeichnung von Lesseps Statue wurde auch Lesseps' Wahlspruch festgehalten: "Aperire terram gentibus" (Den Völkern die Erde öffnen).

Der farbige Faltplan dokumentiert die touristische Erschließung des Suezkanals und präsentiert koloniale Gebäude und Denkmäler.
