Dezember 1854, Kairo.Huber beschreibt die Rollen von Ferdinand de Lesseps und Muhammad Said in der Suezangelegenheit ausf\u00fchrlich und weist mehrmals auf die Internationalit\u00e4t des Projekts hin.\"Die politische Klippe und der in dieser Beziehung voraussichtliche Widerstand Englands soll dadurch umgangen werden da\u00df das Unternehmen keine nazionale Farbung tragen, sondern von einer, die Theilnahme aller Nazionen umfassendenPrivatgesellschaft ausgehen soll. Said Pascha ist f\u00fcr das gedachte Unternehmen bereits gewonnen u. hat in diesem Sinneden Generalconsul's von England, Frankreich u. Oesterreich Er\u00f6ffnungen gemacht; auch hat er es auf sich genommen die erforderliche Genehmigung der ottomanischen Pforte zu erlangen (...)\".
